Description of work conducted
The project involved intersection safety improvements and reviewed the existing conditions and the two proposed design options for alignment with safe system principles.
Project outcomes
The safe system assessment (SSA) found that proposed design options have fair alignment with Safe System principles. A marginal reduction in safety was identified in the traffic signals option, with the roundabout option demonstrating a road safety improvement and better alignment with the safe system.
Various primary and supporting treatments were identified to further improve alignment with safe system.
